Honda & Acura Compression Test (88-91 Civic/CRX) How To DIY

Pretty simple step by step explanation on how to test the compression on your 88-91 Civic or CRX. This will be a very similar job on any 88-00 Civic or 90-01 Acura Integra also.

I'm getting ready to sell the CRX and wanted to get the compression test results to show potential buyers. I have also received a new jdm b20b for my track car and wanted to get a final look at the compression results on that car before the motor is pulled.

Both of these motors are B18A1 from 90-91 Integras. A healthy reading for these engines is between 135 to 195 PSI. Keep in mind you may get different readings from different compression tester tools but the main thing you are checking for is a variance between the cylinders. The acceptable difference is 10% variance between the highest and lowest cylinders.

Thanks for watching! If you need any help, please leave a message in the comments!
